When we were given the assignment to listen to a podcast of any topic of our choice, my mind went blank.  I sat down in my basement and glanced at my electric guitar.  Then it hit me.  The guitar is an instrument with so many different possibilities.  But how much did I really know about it?  I searched for a podcast, and came up with Pandora’s Podcast.  Basically the podcast talks about different styles and effects, such as the wah-wah, a sound I learned can often be associated with the 70’s.  This podcast is given a fun twist when each style is individually demonstrated.  I also learned a style called distortion was used by Jimi Hendrix.  The distortion can be light and basic, and increased for a bit more of a solo-sound.  Delay was the last effect discussed.  It gives an echo, and you can have slow or fast delays.  To control the speed, a pedal is used.  I highly recommend this podcast to anyone who is a basic or advanced guitar player, and overall is passionate for the instrument.
